Course Structure
The course begins with an online video seminar – “Polestar® Pilates Movement Principles”, led by Dr. Brent Anderson, founder and president of Polestar® Pilates.
During the seminar, you’ll explore:
The history and philosophy of the Pilates method
Core anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics concepts
The fundamentals of the Polestar® education system
Key principles of professional ethics
Certification
After each module, participants receive a Polestar® Pilates Certificate of Attendance (USA)Upon successful completion of the final international exam, you will be awarded the Polestar® Pilates Instructor Certificate (USA), which is recognized worldwide
Polestar® Pilates Mat Training Overview
The training includes:
- Introductory video course: Polestar Movement Principles.
The Polestar® Pilates Movement Principles video seminar is available in English. The seminar is led by Brent Anderson, founder and president of Polestar® Pilates.
- Three two-day modules (6 in-person training days total).
Each module consists of 16 hours, totaling 48 hours of direct contact training.
Course Duration:
This long-term format allows for progressive integration of knowledge, refinement of teaching skills, and development of personal practice.
Average course duration: 4–5 months
Additional Learning Materials:
- Full-color manuals (with high-quality photos, detailed exercise descriptions, and teaching methodology)
- Personal account with access to video lectures and classes
- Class cards with pre-designed sequences
Upon completing the course, you will be able to:
- Correctly perform 61 exercises and their variations from the Polestar Pre-Pilates and Polestar Pilates Mat repertoire
- Clearly define the main goals and objectives of each exercise
- Deliver a minimum of 12 mat classes, each lasting 40–60 minutes
- Understand common contraindications and precautions for each mat-based Pilates exercise
- Modify mat exercises according to client needs and session goals by adjusting leverage, range of motion, base of support, tempo, and use of props
- Apply imagery and tactile cueing to enhance movement quality
- Correct common movement errors using Polestar Pilates principles
- Gain a solid theoretical and practical understanding of Polestar teaching methods, including the use of verbal and tactile cueing and their combinations
Important:
Participation in all 3 Polestar® Pilates Mat modules and the Polestar® Pilates Movement Principles seminar qualifies you to take the final international certification exam and earn the Polestar® Pilates International Instructor Certificate.

Training Format:
Each module: 2 days / 16 hours
Class time: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Lunch break: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Module Topics:
- Common pathologies and safety considerations; contraindications for upper and lower limb movements
- Polestar Pilates Mat Movement Principles: breathing, neutral alignment, and spinal articulation
- Introduction to Pre-Pilates exercises: execution techniques, verbal/visual cueing, and modifications
- Analysis of Pilates exercises: learning proper movement techniques
- Effective teaching cues, exercise benefits, and modifications
- Planning and structuring a Polestar Mat class
- Sample Polestar Mat class sequences for beginner-level clients
- Pilates Mat exercises and sequencing for beginner and intermediate-level sessions
- Cue delivery: application of verbal, visual, and tactile cueing strategies
Registration and Payment Information.
To register, a €300 deposit is required.
The remaining balance can be paid prior to the seminar.
You will be able to submit the deposit payment after completing your registration.
Once the deposit is received, you will be granted access to the Polestar online platform, where the required video seminar materials and tests for the Polestar® Pilates Movement Principles will be available.
